The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou known as FESPACO is the largest film festival in Africa. Nearly 170 films from all over the continent are shown during the week long bi-annual festival which is now in its 23rd edition. 101 films vy for the top Etalon d'Or prize with all of the juries for the different categories presided this year by women. This year's theme focused on African cinema and politics.

Kei survived the storm by fleeing to higher ground but lost all her possesions in her family home in the Anibong area. This day she was wandering amongst debris trying to find some of her possesions.

Cape Town's premier body painting competition is in its seventh year. This spectacular show is presented by the CityVarsity School of Media & Creative Arts. Students of CityVarsity specialising in make-up, costume and motion picture production design transform human bodies into living canvases using body painting techniques and special effects make-up. This years theme was inspired by ErtÈ and Marine World.  The Bodyspectra event is building towards a much bigger international competition which will be held during the Football World Cup in South Africa 2010.

The group of protestors handed over a memorandum to the South African government demanding a speeding up of the processing of asylum seekers and a stop to the recent surge in arrests of illegal aliens.
